Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 September 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LeaseOnDemand (“we,” “us”), operated from Faridabad, Haryana, India, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with the LeaseOnDemand platform (“the Platform”). It is drafted with reference to the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made thereunder, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here. This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, and information generated by using the platform:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text) when you register.
- Google sign-in: if you use “Continue with Google,” we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google.
- Property listings: address, pricing, amenities, and photos uploaded by property owners.
- Legal and compliance documents: if an owner chooses to upload documents (such as a Fire NOC or Completion Certificate) to seek a “Verified” badge for a listing, we store those files to review and, if verified, to keep a record of what was checked. These may contain personal or property-identifying information; see Section 3 for how we protect them.
- Inquiries and messages: content you send when contacting our support team.
- WhatsApp number: if you unlock a property’s full brief, we collect the WhatsApp number you provide so our team can send you the PDF.
- Payment information: subscription, per-listing, and brief-unlock payments are processed by Razorpay. We store the resulting order ID, payment ID, and amount — we never receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details.
- Usage data: IP address and basic request metadata, used for rate-limiting, fraud prevention, and an audit log of account actions.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account, and to verify your identity via email OTP.
- To operate the marketplace — publishing listings, reviewing documents an owner submits for listing verification, delivering unlocked property briefs, and processing payments.
- To send transactional emails and WhatsApp messages: OTP codes, payment confirmations, property briefs, and subscription renewal reminders.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.
- To improve the platform based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
4. We Do Not Share Renter and Owner Contact Details With Each Other
Owners and renters do not see each other’s personal contact information directly through the Platform. When a renter unlocks a listing’s full brief, or an owner receives interest in a property, our own team acts as the point of contact and manually facilitates any introduction, on WhatsApp or otherwise, if and when a renter is ready to move forward. A property’s exact address and photos are shared with a renter only after payment (or a promotional unlock, where offered), as described in our Terms of Service.
5. Who We Share Data With
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with the service providers that operate the platform, strictly to provide the service:
- Razorpay — payment processing.
- Cloudinary — storage and delivery of property images and, for verification documents specifically, access-controlled storage (see Section 3 of our note above) that is not publicly accessible.
- Resend — delivery of transactional emails (OTP, notifications, receipts).
- Google — if you sign in with Google, for authentication only.
We may also disclose information where required by law, in response to a valid order from a court or government authority, or where necessary to investigate fraud, enforce these terms, or protect the rights, safety, or property of LeaseOnDemand or our users.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and listing data for as long as your account is active. If you delete a listing or close your account, the underlying record is soft-deleted and excluded from search and public pages immediately; residual data — including transaction records and audit logs — may be retained for a limited period as reasonably necessary for legal, tax, dispute-resolution, and fraud-prevention purposes before permanent deletion.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (session/authentication) and to protect the platform from abuse. See our Cookie Policy for details.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, or withdraw consent to its processing where consent is the basis for processing. You can access and update most account information directly from your dashboard at any time. For any other request, or any question about how your information is handled, contact our Grievance Officer (Section 10). We will acknowledge your request within a reasonable time and respond as required by applicable law. Withdrawing consent or requesting deletion may mean we can no longer provide some or all of the Platform’s services to you.
9. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All traffic is served over HTTPS. Verification documents are stored in access-controlled storage, not public URLs. Access to administrative functions is role-restricted, and account actions are recorded in an audit log. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and while we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security, and are not liable for unauthorized access resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
